Participating Partners in the Freiburg Concept

The „Freiburg“ Emergency Kit Concept is a collaborative innovation developed by a local association for disabled athletes (BBS), the Department for Cardiology and Angiology of the University Medical Center Freiburg (Prof. Dr. Ch. Bode), and WiSMa Gmbh. The “Freiburg” Emergency Kit Concept allows local sports clubs and doctors to tailor their kits to handle potential injuries and medical emergencies. The kit itself includes first aid supplies and an automated external defibrillator. In addition, flexible service and consultations from the BBS supports sports clubs and doctors within legal guidelines for medically-related sports emergencies.

Universitätsklinikum Freiburg

Medical assistance for sports clubs requires both quick action in emergency situations and fundamental knowledge in applying preventive and rehabilitative medicine. The Department of Cardiology at the University Medical Center Freiburg plays its role by offering medical training as well as by developing special medical equipment and the tailored concepts – in close collaboration with WiSMa Ltd- needed to support local sports clubs. All of these efforts are thanks to cooperation with BBS and will go a long way in implementing many more joint projects.
